The former Prince of Wales Public House demolition project followed the same Seagrave standard in many ways, but was also our first project designed for young residents with physical disabilities. Working alongside Orbit Housing Association and Olympus Care Services, we constructed a bespoke 2 and 3 storey building linked by an overcroft which included a 13 passenger lift, an office and warden call system with video and proximity fob door entry. 25 flats were designed with internal features such as rise and fall work surfaces, accessible windows, wet rooms and electronically operated hoists to some. Externally, the site was accessed via automatic vehicular entrance gates and the external entrance doors featured auto openers, as did several of the flats. Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 was attained within two weeks of completion by our newly appointed in-house Assessor”.
